This article lists all the Story Quests, presented according to age and the order in which they appear. The quests cannot be aborted (except for one) and a player will need to fulfill all the prerequisites in order to complete them. Pythia makes a short appearance as the quest giver in BA and Early IA but then is never seen again. These quests are narrated by the player's advisor, who is Ragu Silvertongue (SA - CA), Princess Myciena (CA - FE), Admiral Terry Hunt (AF - OF) and Eve (VF - SAJM).

Most of the quests will require the player to scout and acquire parts or even an entire province, research some technologies, build a building, collect a certain amount of a resource (like happiness, population, goods) or pay some coins or supplies. These quests, as the name suggests, narrate a story or a chronological sequence of events in the player's city and interactions with the province owners. Story Quests are a type of quest the player has to deal with.
